Experiments in Online Article Authoring
As an online article author for 19-months I have tried many different tactics to promote the articles I write. Like most online article authors I have watched my statistics and number of article views to see what works and what does not. Most authors do this and experiment with key-wording, titles and sizes of articles. Indeed, this makes sense.

They Did It & So Can You: Writing Articles & Breaking the Four Minute Mile
Years ago, as you know, runner Jim Ryun dashed what was thought to be an unbreakable record.
He ran the mile in less than four minutes.
History would reveal that the four minute mile was more of a psychological barrier than anything else, because after Ryun's achievement, literally hundreds of runners joined Ryun by clocking less than four minutes.
Once a leader shows that something can be done, in sports, business, the sciences, or even in writing, others quickly follow suit.

Online Article Sites and Author Spotlights
There are a few online article sites on the Internet that just literally blow away the competition, of course for every Super Star or Category Killer online article submission site that is great there are hundreds of regular ones, most of which will not be around in a year or so. One thing I have noticed as an online article author is that if you do not post your articles on the Top Sites, they too will be lost in the void of Cyber Space soon.

The 10 Question Topic Test
Effective writers are those who can not only find a topic, but determine if it will sell, to whom they should sell it and how to develop this idea to pitch to editors. I have developed a list of ten questions that should be applied to any topic. These questions test the topic’s suitability for a particular market, help determine the particular slants that could be applied, and flesh out the beginnings of an idea into a fully developed topic.

Article Marketing, Key Words and Long Tail Theories
The long-tail theory for article marketing is quite simple really. It states that the top key words in every category are those most people use in their articles and most people use to search with, yet all those secondary key words from lets say 5-15 down the list will give you less competition and more traffic because of this.
